4. Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use essential cookies that the website needs to work, such as keeping you signed in, remembering your basket and storing your cookie choice. These don’t need your consent.
We only use analytics or marketing cookies if you click Accept on our cookie banner. If you click No thanks, they are not loaded. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser’s cookies for proaddiction.co.uk, which will show the banner again.

5. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with the service providers we need to run the business, and only what each one needs. They act on our instructions and must keep your data secure.

International transfers: some providers, such as payment and email tools, may store data outside the UK. When they do, we make sure it is protected by UK adequacy regulations or approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
6. How long we keep it, and how we protect it
We keep personal data only as long as we need it:
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Orders, invoices and trade account records | 6 years after the end of the financial year, for tax purposes |
| Professional applications that don’t go ahead | 12 months, then deleted |
| Salon Finder listings | Until you ask us to remove them, or your account closes |
| Newsletter sign-ups | Until you unsubscribe |
| Enquiries | 2 years after our last contact |
| Training and certification records | For as long as your certification is valid, plus 2 years |
Security: the website uses an encrypted (https) connection, admin access is limited to named staff with strong passwords, and the site and its backups are kept up to date. No online system is completely secure, so if a breach puts your data at risk we will tell you and, where required, the ICO.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
- Delete your data, where we have no legal reason to keep it
- Restrict or object to how we use it, including direct marketing at any time
- Withdraw consent for anything based on consent, such as the newsletter or a Salon Finder listing
- Data portability: receive the data you gave us in a common format
To use any of these rights, email sales@proaddiction.co.uk. We will reply within one month, and there is normally no charge. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.
Complaints: if you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the way we use data changes, for example when we add a new payment or email provider. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. If a change significantly affects how we use your data, we will tell you by email or with a notice on the website.
